Film poster

This is a film poster of 'adulthood' and just by looking at the central image you can tell its a film which involves crime. The way he's dressed shows that it's a 'hood' film as his hoodie is up. Also the way he's standing with his hands in his pocket shows that people associate 'thug' behaviour with dark clothing and inappropriate gestures. The genre of this movie is crime and action.

Paranormal Activity log line

The films are based around a family haunted by a demonic entity that stalks, terrifies and ultimately murders several members of the family, and other bystanders, during the course of the films. The series makes use of camcorders, security cameras and other recording devices, presenting the films as found footage.

Storyboard

A drugdealer has broken into Greenford High School and is after 2 girls who owe him money. The 2 girls have not met the deadline so he is going to shoot them on site.
(This is a wide shot. This type of shot is used to introduce the location or the setting. It sets the scene and shows a clear image of the surroundings.)

As you can see the 2 girls are having a conversation with each other minding their own business. But they do not know what's going to happen in a matter of minutes..

(This is a long shot. Head and body are clearly visible and shows plenty of background. This type of shot fits in plenty of action.)

The drug dealer is looking for the perfect place to shoot his targets. He is walking up the stairs with his sniper rifle and wants to leave a mark on atleast one of his targets so they know not to mess with him again.

(This is also a long shot as the persons head and toe is visible. Shows the characters movement and plenty of action.)

The drugdealer has found the perfect place and is aiming for his targets as quick as possible before they spot him and get away.

(This is a close up. This type of camera shot shows the aspect of the characters face.)

He has picked his target and is ready to pull the trigger any second now. One of the girls lives is in danger.

He has now pulled the trigger..

(This is an over the shoulder shot. This shows the characters perspective or what he sees in his sight.)

 He has missed.

(This is an extreme close up shot. This shot emphasises the specific detail in the shot.)

Advert

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City cover

Grand Theft Auto Vice City shows that this city involves crime and a lot of thugs as it shows on the cover. The cover shows a man with a gun and a chain which gives us an image that he's 'dangerous'. It also implies its a thug city as the woman who is in a bikini would attract thugs. This attracts teenagers as it looks like a fun, action game to play.

This game was published by Rockstar Games Capcom. It is played on multiple platforms such as PlayStation, Windows, Xbox, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, PlayStation 3.

The game looks like it would be targeted to both males and females. Age range would be 18-28 as it's fun and violent.

Why I chose media

I chose media studies because I thought it would be something I would enjoy doing and a subject I know I would be capable of achieving and A or an A*. I also chose it because it has a lot to do with a computer and editing skills in which I have experience of and I enjoy doing as a hobby. I want to improve my Photoshop skills and filming skills to help me in the future and when I need to. I did the IT GCSE last year which led me to wanting to do media as both GCSE courses link in using computers and editing. I would also like to improve my photography skills and acting skills within 1 GCSE which is a bonus for me. I like making videos and hope to direct a music video one day whether it be something big or even a small video for a friend or family. :-).
